Why we built Aquagrid
Aquagrid was built by people who spent enough time standing over tanks and cages with a notebook and a wet phone to know that fish farming runs on numbers as much as it runs on water. We are a small team working alongside aquaculture practitioners to turn the ledger, the calipers and the whiteboard into a single tool that fits in your pocket.
We believe every farm — from a single backyard tank to a multi-pond operation — deserves production-grade record keeping without a subscription, a login screen, or a server tracking its business. Our mission is to put the entire production cycle — stocking, growth, feed, water quality and cost — into one offline notebook that works exactly where the fish are.
Aquagrid keeps your stock registry, ten zootechnical calculators, full water-quality logging with target-range alerts, an equipment and maintenance register, and a twelve-topic aquaculture academy all in one place — so you can go from "what did I stock three weeks ago" to "what will this cycle cost me" without leaving the app.
A missed mortality trend or a drifting ammonia reading costs real biomass and real money; catching it a day earlier is the difference between a normal week and a lost tank. Aquagrid exists so the data you already collect actually works for you.

Nothing to collect, because nothing leaves your device
Aquagrid is designed around a simple rule: your farm's data belongs on your farm's device. This policy explains, plainly, what that means in practice.
1. Information We Collect
None. Aquagrid does not collect your name, email, location, device identifiers, usage analytics, or any information you enter about your batches, units, weighings, water readings or equipment. There is no sign-up, so there is nothing to gather at the door.
2. How We Use Information
Because nothing is collected, nothing is used, profiled, analyzed, sold, rented, or shared with advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else. There is no behind-the-scenes processing of your production records — the calculators and alerts run entirely on your device.
3. Data Storage
Every batch card, control weighing, mortality record, water reading, equipment log and academy progress note is stored locally on your iPhone or iPad. Aquagrid has no cloud backend, no remote database, and no server component of any kind. If you delete the app, the data goes with it.
4. Third-Party Services
Aquagrid does not integrate analytics SDKs, advertising networks, crash trackers, or any third-party service that would transmit information off your device. The app makes no network calls to report on your usage.
5. Data Security
Because your production records never leave your device, they are protected by the same security you already rely on for your iPhone or iPad — device passcode, encryption at rest, and Apple's platform safeguards. There is no server for anyone to breach.
6. Children's Privacy
Aquagrid is a professional farm-management tool and is not directed at children. In any case, since the app collects no data from any user, of any age, there is no children's data to inadvertently gather, store or expose.
7. Your Control
There are no accounts to manage and no remote records to request or erase, because none exist. You control your data directly: export, edit or remove entries inside the app, or delete the app itself to remove everything at once.
8. Changes to This Policy
If our practices ever change, we will update this policy and revise the effective date above before the change takes effect. Our starting commitment stays the same: local-only operation, by default.
